Summer Reading Opportunities

Summer reading opportunities abound for Gem County kids this summer. Kids who do not continue to read over the summer can lose as much as 3 month of reading achievement. New this year is a partnership like no other, Emmett Public Library, Gem County Rec. District and Emmett School District are teaming up to turn the "Summer Slide" into the "Summer Leap!" A STEAM based theme flows throughout all the program's 8 week adventures. A special $7.00 library card for non-resident participants is available, prizes galore and chance to win new bikes.

Come Try KaleidoDraw!

You may have noticed the brand-new computers in our children's area. We are happy to share that we also have new interactive software called KaleidoDraw on both computers. Used widely in museums and libraries, KaleidoDraw introduces your kids to the art & science of symmetry patterns. This fun program is simple enough for a three year old, and complex enough to fascinate kids ages 3 to 100. Stop by and let your creativity run wild!

Many Opportunities in May

On May 11th, have fun making Mom an altered book page bookmark, 4-6 pm. Many great new library resources have been added for YOU! Chromebooks, gardening "How-To" books, and over 200 new best-sellers for your reading pleasure.
