City Elections Are Set
Four Candidates for Three Openings on the City Council

Two incumbents and two newcomers make up the ballot for the next city election on November 2nd for the three open seats.  Multi-term council member Michelle Welch elected not to run.

First-term council members Steve Nebeker and Gary Resinkin have elected to seek a second term. Nebeker last served as Emmett Police Chief before retiring to pursue a real estate sales career.  Resinkin is a long-time local businessman, owning and operating Main Street Auto.

New comers Gwen Earls and Jody Harris complete the ballot.  Earls has been a member of the city’s Zoning Commission since August of 2015, and served as program director for a developmental disability agency in the valley for 14 years. She is a US Army veteran, a member of Legion Post 49, and currently self-employed as a consultant.

Harris was born and raised in Emmett, actively participated in Emmett High School athletics in girls’ basketball and softball, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in School and Community Health Education, and last served on the Emmett School Board as its Chair and is self-employed.
